Avelo Airlines expands Concord-Padgett flights with larger planes and more routes, adding jobs while closing other bases.
Avelo Airlines is expanding its Concord-Padgett Regional Airport operations with a third aircraft and larger 189-seat planes, boosting spring and summer flight frequency.
The move, following a financial recapitalization, supports over 75 local jobs and enhances nonstop service to cities including Albany, New York; Orlando; New Haven; Rochester; and San Juan.
The airline is closing bases at Raleigh-Durham and Wilmington, though limited service continues to select destinations.
Avelo began flying from the Charlotte region in May 2024, carrying over 230,000 passengers, and now operates alongside Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines at the single-runway airport.
Financial details and job reduction numbers remain undisclosed.
