Washington State’s schools face a $1.5 billion funding gap, threatening services and class sizes.
A January 7 town hall at Newport High School in Bellevue highlighted Washington State’s persistent school funding crisis, with district leaders, students, and state officials citing $500 million in special education shortfalls, over $500 million in unmet materials and operations costs, and a $90 million transportation gap.
