Sidney Kibrick, who played the mischievous character “Woim” in the 1930s “Our Gang” shorts, died on January 3, 2026, at age 97 in Northridge, California.
Born in 1928 in Minneapolis, he began acting in 1935, appearing in about two dozen “Our Gang” films until 1939.
Known for his Brooklyn accent and partnership with bully Butch, played by Tommy Bond, he earned $750 a week during the Depression.
He also starred in films with Shirley Temple and in “Jesse James” and “Flight Lieutenant.” By 15, he left acting, later attending USC and working in real estate.
He remained fond of his “Our Gang” experience, calling it formative and joyful.
His final film role was in the 1943 Bowery Boys movie “Keep ‘Em Slugging.” No cause of death was disclosed.
