Riga Airport became the first climate-neutral airport in the Baltic region in 2025 by offsetting all direct CO₂ emissions, according to CEO Laila Odina. Passenger traffic held steady at just over 7.1 million, while air cargo volumes rose 7% to 20,100 tons, boosted by new carriers Fly Khiva and Lufthansa Cargo. Popular destinations included London, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, Vilnius, Tallinn, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Istanbul. airBaltic led with 57.2% market share, followed by Ryanair at 22.8%. Odina projected moderate, steady growth for 2026, dependent on stable economic and geopolitical conditions.
