The Ottawa Senators signed veteran goalie James Reimer to an AHL tryout to strengthen goaltending while Linus Ullmark is on leave.
The Ottawa Senators have signed veteran goaltender James Reimer, 37, to an AHL professional tryout agreement, with plans for him to join the Belleville Senators and potentially earn an NHL contract.
The move comes as backup Linus Ullmark remains on personal leave since December 28, prompting the team to bolster goaltending depth.
Reimer, who has played 525 NHL games across multiple teams, posted a 10-10-2 record with a 3.04 GAA and .896 save percentage in 24 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres.
He previously had a tryout with Toronto in 2025 but was released in October.
The Senators hope his experience will help stabilize their struggling defense.
