NYPD shot and killed a man wielding a sharp object inside NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn, around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2026. The man, who had been hospitalized the previous day, barricaded himself in a room, threatened staff, and refused to drop the weapon despite repeated orders.
