Malaysia hit a record $18.7B in customs revenue in 2025, driven by better compliance and enforcement.
Malaysia's Customs Department collected a record 76.18 billion ringgit ($18.71 billion) in 2025, exceeding its target by 8.93 billion ringgit and marking the third consecutive year of growth, with increases surpassing 10 billion ringgit in both 2024 and 2025.
The rise is attributed to improved tax compliance, stronger enforcement, and better trade facilitation.
The department also introduced new customs checks at boarding gates in Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Terminal 1 to enhance security and streamline passenger flow.
