This comes after earlier unsuccessful attempts to indict James, including a case involving a property loan that was dropped because the prosecutor was appointed incorrectly. James was served with subpoenas, but a federal judge recently ruled that the acting U.S. The lawyer in charge of the cases was not duly appointed. James's lawyer claims that the investigation is politically motivated because of President Trump's hostility toward her. The investigation is still ongoing.
