As of January 9, 2026, Jammu and Kashmir has disbursed Rs 750 crore under Mission YUVA to support 13,000 youth in starting entrepreneurial ventures, with a goal of launching 137,000 startups and creating 4.25 lakh jobs in five years.
The initiative, promoted through an event in Kathua, offers up to Rs 20 lakh in seed funding via the Neo-Innovative Enterprises scheme and connects youth with mentorship, funding, and infrastructure.
The CSIR-IIIM’s Industrial Biotech Park in Kathua has already backed over 125 startups, 15 of which have launched commercial products.
The mission focuses on four pillars—culture, capital, capacity, and connectivity—and plans to integrate 14 universities into a unified platform to expand access and strengthen the regional startup ecosystem.
