Glenn Hall, the Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender nicknamed "Mr. Goalie" for his record 502 consecutive NHL regular-season starts, has died at 94 in Stony Plain, Alberta.
A pioneer of the butterfly style, Hall played 18 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and St. Louis Blues, leading the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup in 1961 and winning playoff MVP in 1968.
He earned three Vezina Trophies, led the league in shutouts six times, and was named to 13 All-Star Games.
Inducted in 1975, Hall’s durability and innovation left a lasting impact on goaltending.
The Blackhawks retired his No.
1 jersey in his honor.
