Delhi High Court rejects stay on fee committee rule, extends deadline to Feb. 5.
The Delhi High Court has denied a stay on the government’s requirement for private schools to form fee regulation committees by January 20, 2026, extending the original deadline and pushing back fee submission to February 5.
The ruling upholds the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act 2025, which mandates school-level committees to oversee fee increases, despite challenges from over 800 schools claiming the law violates constitutional rights and undermines autonomy.
The court will continue hearing the case, with the government and Lieutenant Governor asked to respond.
