Bluewater Health is renovating Petrolia’s emergency and X-ray departments after health ministry approval, upgrading facilities handling over 22,000 annual visits.
Bluewater Health is moving forward with a multimillion-dollar renovation of Petrolia’s Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital emergency and X-ray departments, following Ministry of Health approval.
The project, beginning with a tender process, will upgrade outdated equipment and expand the emergency department, which handles over 22,000 visits annually—well beyond its original 7,500-capacity design.
Work, expected to take 18 to 24 months and be completed in eight phases, will keep the hospital open.
Improvements include more exam rooms, better sightlines, and a central monitoring station.
The final cost is unknown but expected to be in the millions.
The CEE Foundation has raised $1.2 million toward a $4 million goal.
The renovation is the first phase of a long-term, five-part redevelopment plan.
