Quebec revoked Jacques Lamarre’s engineering licence and fined him $75,000 over corruption linked to SNC Lavalin’s 2001–2009 payments.
Quebec’s engineering order has revoked the professional licence of Jacques Lamarre, former SNC Lavalin CEO, and fined him $75,000 over corruption and collusion linked to the company’s political financing and foreign payments between 2001 and 2009.
The decision, upheld in August 2025, cited improper expenses for Saadi Gadhafi, son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi, and alleged contract-for-donation schemes in Montreal.
Lamarre, who retired earlier in 2025, expressed disappointment but will not appeal.
The licence revocation is the harshest penalty the order can issue.
