Over $2.3 million in federal funding is being used to upgrade four high-risk intersections in New South Wales’ Illawarra region under the Black Spots Program.
Projects include installing one-lane roundabouts and safety features like kerb blisters, raised thresholds, shared paths, and footpaths at sites in Unanderra, Oak Flats, Shell Cove, and Albion Park.
These upgrades aim to reduce crashes and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, with work expected to be completed by June 30, 2028.
The funding is part of 84 safety projects across NSW in 2025–26.
