John Pilaccio, 43, indicted for killing CVS worker Eddy Ciné Jr. in a Christmas Day 2025 robbery stabbing.
John Pilaccio, 43, of Lindenhurst, has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge for the Christmas Day 2025 stabbing death of 23-year-old CVS employee Edeedson “Eddy” Ciné Jr. during a robbery attempt at a Lindenhurst store.
Prosecutors say Pilaccio, armed with a knife, fatally stabbed Ciné, delivering a 7⅛-inch wound to the chest, and attacked him after leaping over the counter.
Surveillance footage captured the assault, and Pilaccio was arrested the next day, later admitting to the crime in a video confession, citing financial desperation due to over $25,000 in debt.
He has a criminal history, including a prior violent robbery conviction, and was recently released from parole.
Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen Wilutis called the crime “outstandingly heinous” and denied him bail.
His next court date is Feb. 23.
Ciné’s family mourns his loss and is exploring legal action, questioning workplace safety and the timing of video release.
