On January 8, 2026, Manipur Police, along with the NCB, CRPF, and Forest Department, destroyed 53 acres of illegal poppy cultivation in Kangpokpi’s hill regions, burning huts, fertilizers, herbicides, salt, and farming tools.
In separate actions, 23 illegally modified silencer pipes were destroyed in Churachandpur, and security forces arrested two RPF/PLA cadres in Imphal West, seizing phones, SIM cards, and IDs.
Earlier in December, weapons and explosives were recovered in Tengnoupal district.
Additional arrests occurred in Delhi, Kanpur, Agartala, and Uttarakhand, highlighting ongoing anti-narcotics and law enforcement operations nationwide.
