Delhi High Court orders four-week survey of government schools to check compliance with education law.
The Delhi High Court has ordered a four-week, citywide survey of all government-run schools to assess compliance with the Right to Education Act, 2009, expanding a public interest litigation to include all government-administered schools.
The survey, to be supervised by senior officials, will evaluate infrastructure like classrooms, toilets, drinking water, mid-day meal kitchens, playgrounds, and teacher-student ratios.
The court emphasized mandatory adherence to Sections 11 and 19 of the RTE Act and required a consolidated report on compliance, with the matter to be reviewed after submission.
