A Dhaka court has set January 13, 2026, for arguments in a corruption case involving 18 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her nieces, over alleged irregularities in land allocation within the RAJUK New Town Project.
The court, led by Judge Robiul Alam, concluded prosecution witness testimony on January 5, with the last witness being ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya.
The accused, Khurshid Alam, who is in custody, has pleaded not guilty and presented a defense.
The case stems from an investigation into land allocation practices, with charges initially filed in January 2025 against 16 individuals and later expanded to 18.
