Andhra Pradesh's Polavaram Project, aiming to provide irrigation, water, and power, is on track for Phase-1 completion by March 2027.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that Phase-1 of the Polavaram Irrigation Project is on track for completion by March 2027, with key components like the diaphragm wall, main canal, and tunnels progressing toward scheduled deadlines.
He emphasized that resettlement for 38,060 families must be finished by January 2027, with 26 of 75 colonies completed.
The project, aimed at delivering irrigation, drinking water, and hydroelectric power, is expected to become fully operational by December 2027, with Phase-2 targeting completion by June 2027.
Naidu attributed past delays to the previous government, citing damage to infrastructure and a ₹1,000 crore cost increase, while highlighting progress in water conservation and plans for an inland waterway and expanded canal networks.
