Adani Group and Embraer to build regional jet assembly line in India, boosting 'Make in India' and regional air travel.
The Adani Group and Brazil’s Embraer have formed a strategic partnership to build a final assembly line for regional jets in India, aiming to boost domestic aviation manufacturing and support Prime Minister Modi’s 'Make in India' initiative.
The agreement, set for formal announcement at the Hyderabad Air Show, will enable India to join a select group of nations capable of assembling commercial fixed-wing aircraft.
The project focuses on producing jets for 70 to 146 passengers, addressing rising demand driven by over 1,800 pending aircraft orders and delays in global deliveries.
While details on location, investment, and timeline remain undisclosed, the move is expected to create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and support regional air connectivity through initiatives like Udan.
Embraer already operates nearly 50 aircraft in India across multiple sectors and projects a need for about 500 regional jets over the next 20 years.
