A 19-year-old Nashua man, Devin Rice, was arrested on six felony counts of first-degree assault after allegedly stabbing his uncle multiple times during a family argument on January 5, 2026.
Police responded to a home on West Hollis Street after reports of a stabbing, finding the uncle with non-life-threatening stab wounds requiring emergency surgery.
According to court documents and security footage, the incident began during a dispute between Rice’s mother and the victim, prompting Rice to intervene with a hunting knife.
The victim sustained six stab wounds, including one to the kidney, and was hospitalized but expected to recover.
Rice was taken into custody, read his rights, and held without bail.
The knife was recovered, and he was scheduled for a video arraignment on January 6.
The case remains under investigation.
