TIFF's 2025 Canada’s Top Ten list honors standout Canadian films, including Zacharias Kunuk’s "Uiksaringitara," which won Best Canadian Feature.
The Toronto International Film Festival has unveiled its 2025 Canada’s Top Ten list, spotlighting standout Canadian films. Among the selections is Zacharias Kunuk’s “Uiksaringitara” (Wrong Husband), a fantasy drama set in 2000 BCE Igloolik, Nunavut, about two youths guided by spirits to reunite, which won Best Canadian Feature at TIFF. Also featured are Matt Johnson’s surreal comedy “Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie,” four debut films including Sophy Romvari’s “Blue Heron,” and other notable works like Daniel Roher’s “Tuner” and Bretten Hannam’s “Sk+te’kmujue’katik.” The list was chosen by TIFF programmers in collaboration with festival representatives nationwide.
