St. Petersburg’s 2026 MLK Parade, themed “The Power of A Dream,” honors Dr. King’s legacy with performances, a tribute to Wendell Scott, and community initiatives.
St. Petersburg will hold its 39th Annual MLK Parade on January 19, 2026, themed “The Power of A Dream,” starting at 11 a.m. on 1st Avenue South and ending at Tropicana Field, with road closures from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event, co-hosted by Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival Inc., features performances by Tuskegee University and Alabama A&M University, and a display of a race car honoring NASCAR’s first African American champion, Wendell Scott.
It is part of the citywide 45 Days of Excellence initiative from January 1 to February 14, highlighting community achievements and Dr. King’s legacy through storytelling, events, and the MLK Communities in Action Mini-Grant Program supporting local unity, health, and service projects.
