Singapore lifted food service suspension at Middleton International School after it fixed safety issues following a 263-person outbreak.
The Singapore Food Agency lifted the suspension on Middleton International School’s food operations on January 6, 2026, after the school met food safety requirements following a gastroenteritis outbreak that affected 263 people, including four hospitalizations, at E-Bridge preschools between November 19 and December 10, 2025.
The school cleaned its facilities, retrained staff, and complied with SFA mandates.
It will remain under close monitoring, with possible fines up to $2,000 for violations.
Starting January 19, a new grading system will assess about 45,000 food establishments to improve safety and inform consumers.
