Queensland police have charged seven men, including nationals from Brazil, Fiji, Japan, and Afghanistan, with stealing 60 luxury Toyota vehicles in Brisbane between October and December 2025 using sophisticated CAN injection devices.
The group allegedly hid stolen cars in shipping containers at the Port of Brisbane, Rocklea wrecking yard, and Port of Melbourne, shipping them to the UAE for resale.
So far, 15 vehicles have been recovered, but 45 are believed to have left Australia.
The suspects face over 380 charges and are due in court in January 2026.
Police say the method is rare in Queensland and are working with Victorian and international authorities.
