Sarnia’s Celebration of Lights takedown has been rescheduled to Friday, January 6, at 9 a.m. in Centennial Park due to a freezing rain warning. Organizers are seeking 20 volunteers to assist with guiding displays while a crane lifts heavy pieces, followed by a community takedown on Saturday at the same time. Those with trucks or trailers 4.2 meters or longer are especially needed to transport displays to storage. Refreshments will be provided, and youth are welcome with adult supervision. The 41-year-old event, supported by $122,000 in in-kind donations and $50,000 in raised funds, relies on volunteers for setup and cleanup.
