Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, has been awarded the 2026 IEEE Medal of Honor, the world’s highest engineering honor, for pioneering the first graphics processing unit (GPU) in 1999.
The award recognizes his transformative role in accelerating computing, enabling breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, robotics, healthcare, and autonomous vehicles.
Presented by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the medal includes a $2 million prize and honors Huang’s leadership in advancing the CUDA ecosystem and computing beyond Moore’s Law.
