Jamaican teacher Alex Anderson, valedictorian of UWI’s 2025 virtual grad class, will speak Jan. 10.

Jamaican educator Alex Anderson, a Montego Bay primary school teacher, has been named valedictorian of The University of the West Indies Global Campus Class of 2025. He earned a Bachelor of Education in Educational Leadership and Management with First Class Honours, building on a 2012 psychology degree from the University of Waterloo. Known for his student-centered approach, Anderson emphasizes confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking. Balancing teaching, studies, and family, he draws strength from faith and integrity. He will deliver the valedictory speech at the virtual graduation ceremony on January 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM EC, livestreamed on UWItv.global, Facebook Live, Flow EVO, and the Bluu app. The UWI leadership praised his achievement as an inspiration to educators regionally.
