An inquest into the 2021 Newtownabbey killings of three people is set to begin in June 2026.
An inquest into the 2021 knife attacks in Newtownabbey that killed Kenneth McClean-Flanagan, 26, his mother Karen McClean-Flanagan, 50, and his girlfriend Stacey Knell, 30, is expected to begin in June 2026.
Coroner Anne-Louise Toal proposed a separate inquest for McClean-Flanagan’s death.
Preliminary hearings have been held since March 2025 at Belfast’s Laganside Courthouse, with the PSNI, Northern Health and Social Care Trust, and Knell’s next-of-kin represented.
Ongoing efforts include reviewing police disclosures, evidence, and potential witnesses.
A further hearing is set for February 23.
The case has prompted calls for stronger action on gender-based violence in Northern Ireland.
