India sets two Guinness records laying nearly 29 km of highway in 24 hours on a major expressway project.
The National Highways Authority of India has set two Guinness World Records by laying 28.95 lane-km of bituminous concrete continuously in 24 hours on the Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu credited the achievement to central government leadership, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and the hard work of engineers and workers.
The project, part of Bharatmala Phase-II, aims to cut travel time between Amaravati and Bengaluru from 11–12 hours to about six.
Two more records are expected by January 11, 2026, on other segments of the six-lane, access-controlled highway.
