Delhi court grants bail to two directors in 2021 ITBP exam leak case after 16 months in custody.
A Delhi court granted bail on January 5, 2026, to Shubendu Kumar Paul and Jaydeep Goswami, directors of the Indian Institute of Psychometry, in the 2021 ITBP constable recruitment paper leak case.
The court, citing a completed investigation and no need for further custody, released them on a personal bond of ₹50,000 each with sureties, requiring them to attend all hearings, avoid witness tampering, and not leave the country without permission.
The defendants had been in custody since September 20, 2025.
The prosecution opposed bail, but the court ruled it was justified given the case’s progress.
The leak, involving exam papers circulating on WhatsApp before the test, led to the arrest of five individuals, including the two directors, who had been contracted to manage exam materials across 13 cities.
