A 13-year-old boy, Magezi Miller, from Valley of Peace Village in Belize’s Cayo District, died on January 4, 2026, after drowning in a pond on his family’s property.
He had returned two days earlier from a visit with his mother in the United States.
Witnesses say he was playing near the pond when he did not respond to his father’s calls; he was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
