Richard Coyne Jr. charged in Jan. 4 hit-and-run that critically injured a 25-year-old woman in Bennington.
A 36-year-old Bennington man, Richard Coyne Jr., has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash on January 4, 2026, that left a 25-year-old woman with critical injuries.
The incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. on Main Street, and Coyne was found nearby on School Street, where police believe he was impaired.
He faces multiple charges, including hit-and-run, and is being held without bail.
Meanwhile, Vermont State Police continue searching for 40-year-old Tristan “TJ” Dunster of Duxbury, wanted on charges including aggravated assault and burglary related to a December 29 incident involving a former partner.
Dunster, described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 220 pounds, is believed to have been at the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury.
Authorities are urging the public to report any information.
