Pilot Energy and SN Energy agree to co-develop a solar-battery project at Three Springs, WA, to power a 50MW data center, with $10.75M in funding and a Feb. deadline for final agreement.
Pilot Energy and SN Energy have signed a binding agreement to co-develop a hybrid solar and battery storage project at Pilot’s Three Springs site in Western Australia, near Perth, to support a proposed 50-megawatt data centre.
SN Energy will pay Pilot $10.75 million in upfront and milestone payments to cover land acquisition, grid connection, and development costs.
The project aims to deliver reliable, around-the-clock renewable power by storing excess solar energy, responding to growing global demand for clean energy from AI and cloud computing.
The initiative supports Pilot’s transition from an oil-focused explorer to a diversified clean energy developer.
The deal is pending due diligence and final documentation, with a final agreement expected by early to mid-February.
Pilot has also secured a $500,000 short-term loan from existing shareholders to support near-term progress.
