Lucara Diamond Corp. has released an updated feasibility study for its Karowe Underground Project in Botswana, confirming a 10-year operation starting in early 2028 with $779 million in pre-production capital costs.
The project, expected to recover 4.5 million carats of diamonds from the South Lobe kimberlite pipe, aims for over $1.3 billion in net income and a $432.1 million after-tax NPV at an 8% discount rate.
The study highlights the area’s potential for high-value Type IIa diamonds, including past record-setting stones.
The full technical report will be available on SEDAR+ and Lucara’s website within 45 days.
