The Gauhati High Court voided Nagaland's excise constable hiring, sparking student union demands for a fair restart and protection of candidates' efforts.

The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union is urging the Nagaland government to act after the Gauhati High Court quashed the excise constable recruitment process due to mid-process rule changes. The DNSU cited widespread distress among candidates who spent time and money preparing, calling for the dissolution of the current recruitment board and creation of a new, transparent body. It also requested that those who passed the physical test be exempt from retaking it, warning that administrative failures must not undermine the futures of thousands of young job seekers.
