A 24-year-old Colorado woman and a 5-year-old child were seriously injured Sunday in a crash on I-70 in Kansas when their car rear-ended a semi-truck pulling onto the shoulder.
The incident occurred around 6:05 a.m. near Tallgrass Road in Riley County.
The truck driver, a 61-year-old man from Texas, was not injured.
Both occupants of the car, including the woman and child, were wearing seatbelts.
The woman, Nicole Johnson, was taken to KU Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating, and no citations have been issued.
