Arkel Garcia, accused in two 2025 homicides, was shot and stabbed in Philadelphia on Jan. 4, 2026, and remains in critical condition.

Arkel Garcia, 31, a man accused in two homicides—one in Philadelphia on Nov. 12, 2025, and another in Fort Pierce, Florida, on Nov. 28, 2025—was shot and stabbed in a Philadelphia parking lot altercation on Jan. 4, 2026, and remains in critical condition. A 37-year-old man shot and stabbed Garcia during a struggle after Garcia allegedly shot a 34-year-old man in the arm, claiming self-defense. Garcia, previously convicted of murder in 2013 but had that conviction overturned due to misconduct by a disgraced detective, is wanted in both states. No charges have been filed against the shooter. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed Garcia’s arrest in connection to the Philadelphia homicide.
