Hong Kong will host INTERPOL’s 2026 General Assembly, marking its first time hosting the event.
Hong Kong will host the 94th INTERPOL General Assembly in November 2026, the first time the event is held in the Special Administrative Region and the third time in China.
The announcement follows the handover of the INTERPOL flag in Morocco.
The gathering will bring together police leaders from 196 member countries to address global security issues.
Hong Kong’s police chief, Joe Chow Yat-ming, emphasized the city’s role as a global “superconnector” in law enforcement, highlighting cooperation with ASEAN, Belt and Road countries, and initiatives like the FRONTIER+ platform, which enables real-time intelligence sharing and has helped intercept millions in cross-border fraud.
Preparations are underway with a three-tier leadership structure, and Hong Kong police officers hold key roles in INTERPOL’s cybercrime and anti-money laundering efforts.
