Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. is out indefinitely with a Grade 2 sprain of the right medial collateral ligament, the second such injury to the same knee in less than two months. The injury occurred during a loss to the Boston Celtics on January 4, 2026, when Jones collided with Payton Pritchard and left the game unable to put weight on the leg. He had recently returned from a prior MCL sprain, missing 17 games, and had been averaging a career-high 10.9 points before the latest setback. An MRI was scheduled, with a re-evaluation expected in six weeks.
