In January 2026, Butler County will open two workforce education centers to address regional labor shortages.
The Butler Tech Aviation Center at Middletown Regional Airport will train students in aviation maintenance, piloting, drones, and engineering, responding to national staffing gaps.
The Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub in Hamilton, a partnership between Butler Tech and Miami University, will provide access to advanced technology like CNC machines, enabling students to earn credentials in robotics and engineering.
Located at Vora Technology Park, the hub received significant local funding and aims to retain Ohio talent by offering high-level training previously unavailable locally.
Currently, 47 high school students are enrolled, with plans to expand to over 200.
Former students returning to teach reflect growing local opportunities.
