Apple exported iPhones worth $50 billion from India by December 2025, a major milestone driven by the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The achievement, reached ahead of the scheme’s March 2026 expiration, reflects Apple’s expanded manufacturing footprint with five assembly plants operated by Tata Group and Foxconn, supported by around 45 suppliers. Smartphones became India’s top export category in FY25, with iPhones accounting for nearly 75% of mobile exports. The growth has boosted domestic electronics production, created 2.5 million jobs, and positioned India as the world’s second-largest smartphone producer.
