A 17-year-old boy has been charged with wounding a 31-year-old rideshare driver with a machete in Blacktown, Australia, early January 4, 2026, after allegedly attacking him over a dispute about connecting his phone to the car’s Bluetooth.
The driver sustained a laceration to his arm, was treated at the scene, and hospitalized in stable condition.
Police arrested the teen in Toongabbie around 2:45 a.m., charging him with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was denied bail and is set to appear in Children’s Court.
