Wednesbury to get 34 affordable homes on brownfield site, with 100+ jobs, by late 2026.
Mayor Richard Parker announced a £7.4 million project to build 34 affordable homes on a brownfield site in Wednesbury, part of the Black Country, with funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority and Homes England.
The homes, developed by Keon Homes for housing association Citizen, will offer discounted rents or rent-to-buy options.
Located near the planned Friar Park Urban Village, the project will create or protect over 100 jobs, including 10 construction apprentices, and is set for completion by late 2026.
Work has already begun, aiming to transform underused land into stable housing and support local regeneration.
