Jalen Carter avoided a fine after accidentally injuring Bills' Spencer Brown in a Week 17 game.
Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was not fined for an incident in Week 17’s 13-12 win over the Bills, where he accidentally gouged offensive tackle Spencer Brown in the eye and grabbed him by the throat, according to the NFL.
The play occurred late in the fourth quarter after Brown pushed Carter off the line.
Replays showed Carter’s thumb briefly inside Brown’s facemask before the grip on his throat.
Brown left briefly but returned and reported lingering vision issues, though he was not on the Bills’ injury report for Week 18.
Carter, who returned from shoulder surgery, played a key role with a sack, tackle for loss, and blocked extra point.
Two other Eagles were fined: Grant Calcaterra $6,353 for taunting and Sydney Brown $8,432 for unnecessary roughness.
Carter is not playing in the regular-season finale due to a hip injury.
