Delhi opens four new electric bus depots, advancing its 2026 goal to electrify all public buses.
Delhi has completed four new electric bus depots in Nangloi, Dwarka, Kohat Enclave, and Rithala, advancing its goal to make the entire public bus fleet electric by December 2026.
The facilities, now ready for handover, will support the city’s expanding electric bus network, which is expected to grow from over 3,500 to about 8,000 buses.
Delhi already operates more than 10 dedicated electric bus depots.
Full operation depends on completion of charging systems, officials said, after briefing Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on progress.
