BJP minister defends party against 'snake' remark, linking it to Hindu mythology ahead of West Bengal polls.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh defended the BJP against Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee’s comparison of the party to a "snake," citing Hindu mythology to argue that the serpent Sheshnag is sacred, associated with Lord Vishnu and Lord Lakshman, who symbolize righteousness.
Singh claimed BJP members uphold the values of Ram and Lakshman and will fight evil, asserting that Bengal voters will reject Banerjee and Mamata Banerjee in the upcoming assembly elections.
The exchange follows Banerjee’s rally speech in Alipurduar, where he warned the BJP would bite if given power, urging voters to use EVMs to teach the party a lesson.
The remarks are part of heightened political tensions ahead of West Bengal’s elections, amid disputes over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
