Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from his throwing arm, according to NFL Network.
The 24-year-old senior played through arm weakness caused by the tumor pressing on his biceps tendon and labrum during the 2025 season, starting all 13 games and finishing with 3,565 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, along with four rushing touchdowns.
He played in Tennessee’s Music City Bowl loss to Illinois, passing for 121 yards and scoring a rushing touchdown.
The surgery was successful, and he is expected to need at least eight weeks to recover.
