India boosts fertiliser use efficiency and soil health to support sustainable farming and 2047 goals.
The Indian government, led by Fertilisers Minister J P Nadda, announced measures to prevent fertiliser diversion for non-agricultural use and promote balanced application to boost soil health and crop yields.
Speaking at a Chintan Shivir in New Delhi, Nadda said record production and strategic imports met farmers' needs, while officials, scientists, and industry leaders discussed innovations, self-sufficiency, digital upgrades, and nutrient-based subsidies.
The event aimed to strengthen the fertiliser ecosystem and support sustainable farming ahead of India’s 2047 development goals.
