Terry Wharton, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger who helped win the 1960 FA Cup and scored 79 goals in over 200 appearances, has died at 83 following a short illness.
He played a key role in Wolves' 1967 promotion and the Los Angeles Wolves' 1967 U.S. championship.
After stints at Bolton, Crystal Palace, and Walsall, he managed clubs in the Black Country.
Born in Bolton, he remained active in the Wolves community.
On January 3, 2026, Wolves honored him with a pre-match tribute, black armbands, and a minute’s applause, with condolences to his wife Sue and family.
